Hey, there! My name is Lianna Grace. I'm a writer, shooting for the stars with everything I write. I'm the author of the upcoming novel, Just a Dying Dream.
I'm a homeschooler and a Christian. the beginning of my writing journeyI began writing at the age of seven. I remember the time when I first decided that I wanted to publish one day; for some reason, I remember a very detailed memory of the story that I was writing at the time. And although I can't quite remember what the plot was, other than the fact that it had something to do with three men riding on horses, I do remember that I was writing on these small peices of paper -- those lined papers that are half the size. Not quite sure why that stuck out to me.
my first real storyIt wasn't until I was eleven years old that I actually started pursuing writing. I went to the homeschooling convention in my state like I did every year and for some reason, that was the day that I was utterly inspired. I met someone there who was selling a book that she had written and we got to talking. She told me about the book that she wrote and she told me about the person who designed the cover of her novel (which, turns out, was a mutual friend!). Then she told me about this website called Createspace which allows you to self-publish your novel. That's when I decided -- I was going to write a novel and self-publish it.
The girl who I met, Tialla Rising, ended up being a huge inspiration during the tedious journey of trying to write a novel. (By the way, she's a great writer who I would recommend! You can find her novels, Holding the Future Hostage and Where Shadows Lie here!) I wrote at least several thousand versions of chapter one and of the plot of my first novel for that matter before finally realizing...I was doing something wrong. finally finishing a real novelIn November of 2015, I discovered NaNoWriMo -- an anual writing challenge where hundereds of thousands of writers write a fifty thousand word novel in one month. I tried writing the same novel once again. And, well...I failed miserably.
That was when I finally realized that that reason I couldn't write this novel was beacuse the plot was incredibly empty. So, in April of 2016...Just a Dying Dream was born. This is a teen fiction novel about two teenagers who enter inside of thier dreams. I wrote thirty thousand words of this novel for Camp NaNoWriMo in April and then in November I re-wrote it and made it all the way to fifty thousand. I'll be editing and revising the first draft during January of 2017, God willing. |
